What did Stephen Miller claim about crime on 25 Aug 2025?
Stephen Miller, White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy ·
We've checked the records—no one can even find a record of being murder-free for as long as we're murder-free under President Trump's leadership.
The record was easy to find. Six months earlier, D.C. went more than two weeks without a homicide, from Feb. 24 into mid-March 2025. The streak he was praising was about 12 days old.
The District's 2025 crime-incident data list a homicide that began early on Feb. 24, 2025 and none again until the night of March 13, 2025; in August the same data list homicides on Aug. 11 and Aug. 13 and none again until just after midnight on Aug. 26, 2025 (District of Columbia, Metropolitan Police Department Crime Incidents 2025, DC GIS).
