What did Donald Trump claim about climate and energy on 2 Dec 2025? "And whether it's a hybrid, which really are working really…"
Donald Trump, President of the United States ·
And whether it's a hybrid, which really are working really well—the combination of electric and gasoline driven—but we—you know, everybody was supposed to—by 2030, everybody had to own an electric car, under the Biden stupidity.
No one was required to own an electric car. Biden set a goal for half of new cars sold in 2030 to be zero-emission, including plug-in hybrids.
Biden's 2030 target was a goal for new-car sales, not a requirement to own anything: Executive Order 14037 (Aug. 5, 2021) set 'a goal that 50 percent of all new passenger cars and light trucks sold in 2030 be zero-emission vehicles, including battery electric, plug-in hybrid electric, or fuel cell electric vehicles' (86 Fed. Reg. 43583).
