What did Donald Trump claim about elections on 19 Sep 2020?
Donald Trump, President of the United States ·
Some state Supreme Court justice just ruled that they could take as long as they want to count the ballots.
No justice ruled that. The full Pennsylvania Supreme Court, 4-3, extended the deadline for receiving mailed ballots by three days, to 5 p.m. on November 6, 2020, and left the canvassing and reporting dates unchanged.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court's September 17, 2020 opinion adopts a three-day extension of the mail-in ballot received-by deadline for ballots postmarked by 8 p.m. on Election Day and says it does not require 'alteration of the subsequent canvassing and reporting dates' (Pennsylvania Democratic Party v. Boockvar, No. 133 MM 2020).
