Donald Trump, President of the United States ·
In comparison, under Joe Biden, the worst President in American history, there were hundreds of thousands of illegal crossings a month, and virtually all of them, including murderers, drug dealers, gang members, and people from mental institutions and insane asylums, were released into our country.
Most were not released. Border Patrol released about 31 percent of its southwest border encounters in fiscal 2022 and about 44 percent in fiscal 2023.
DHS statistics show that most Border Patrol encounters at the southwest border under Biden were not released. In fiscal 2022, of 2,206,440 Border Patrol encounters, 1,054,080 were expelled under Title 42 and 62,050 repatriated under Title 8, while 685,300 were released by Border Patrol. In fiscal 2023, of 2,045,840 encounters, 549,770 were expelled, 173,770 repatriated and 909,450 released (DHS Office of Homeland Security Statistics, monthly enforcement tables, November 2024 edition).
