Donald Trump, President of the United States ·

Wages are rising at the fastest pace in decades and growing for blue-collar workers, who I promised to fight for.

Not the fastest in decades. Pay for production and nonsupervisory workers grew 3.4 percent in the year to January 2019, slower than the 3.6 to 4.1 percent of every month in 2007 and 2008.

Average hourly earnings of production and nonsupervisory employees were up 3.4% over the year in January 2019. They had grown faster about a decade earlier, by 3.6% to 4.1% a year in every month of 2007 and 2008 (BLS Current Employment Statistics, 12-month percent change).
