Did Warren Davidson vote the way they spoke on government spending in May 2025?

Warren Davidson, U.S. Representative (R-OH-08) ·

While I love many things in the bill, promising someone else will cut spending in the future does not cut spending. Deficits do matter and this bill grows them now. The only Congress we can control is the one we’re in. Consequently, I cannot support this big deficit plan. NO.

Voted Yea, 3 Jul 2025

Davidson voted against the One Big Beautiful Bill Act in May 2025, calling it a big deficit plan. In July he voted for the Senate version, calling it probably the best product we can get.

Davidson voted against H.R. 1 in May, saying the bill grew deficits and he could not support 'this big deficit plan'. He voted for the Senate-amended version of the same bill in July. Explaining the change, he said 'I wanted to give us a chance to get a better product', cited the SALT and Medicaid changes, and called it 'probably the best product we can get'. He did not say the deficit objection had been resolved.
