Did Chris Jacobs vote the way they spoke on government spending in March 2022?
Chris Jacobs, U.S. Representative (R-NY-27) ·
However, I voted against the non-defense portion of the omnibus because it contained partisan policies that erode the Second Amendment and grow domestic spending at a time when we are still grappling with 40-year record inflation … Whether building out high-speed broadband infrastructure, educating the next generation of Western New York farmers, or improving emergency services – these goals and initiatives are reflected in the funding I secured for my district.
Voted Nay, 9 Mar 2022
Jacobs voted against the non-defense part of the FY2022 spending bill. The next day he touted funding he secured, including Niagara-Orleans broadband money that was in that part.
Jacobs split his votes on the FY2022 omnibus. He voted for the first House vote (roll call 65, covering the defense, homeland security, Commerce-Justice-Science and Ukraine portions) and against the second (roll call 66, the remaining divisions), which he called the non-defense portion. The next day his office said he had secured critical funds for district projects, including $3,877,500 for Niagara-Orleans broadband expansion. He had requested that project, and it was in the Agriculture division covered by the vote he opposed.
