Not true. Troops got a basic pay raise every year, including 2.1 percent in 2017 and another in 2018, and the 2.6 percent raise for 2019 was smaller than those of 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Military basic pay had gone up every year, including by 2.1 percent on January 1, 2017 under the defense bill signed in December 2016 and again on January 1, 2018 (Public Law 114-328, sec. 601; Public Law 115-91, sec. 601).
