What did Donald Trump claim about elections on 22 Jul 2025?
Donald Trump, President of the United States ·
Hillary Clinton and her group, the Democrats, spent $12 million to Christopher Steele to write up a report that was a total fake report.
The Federal Election Commission found that the money for the opposition research came to about $1 million in all: the Clinton campaign paid $175,000 and the DNC $849,407.97 to the law firm Perkins Coie, which paid $1,024,407.97 to Fusion GPS, the firm that hired Steele. That is a twelfth of what he claimed, and Steele got only part of it.
Perkins Coie paid $1,024,407.97 to Fusion GPS in 2016; between July and August 2016 the DNC paid $849,407.97 and Hillary for America paid $175,000 to Perkins Coie for what complaints called opposition research by Fusion GPS (Federal Election Commission, conciliation agreements in MUR 7449, released 2022).
