Just approved (and fast) the FULL Emergency Declaration for the Great State of Iowa.
It wasn't the full request. The declaration gave aid to governments and certain nonprofits but none to individuals, which Iowa's governor had also asked for; that came later.
Iowa's governor had asked for Individual Assistance for households as well as Public Assistance for governments (Office of the Governor of Iowa). The major disaster declaration FEMA announced on August 17, 2020 provided Public Assistance (aid to the state, eligible local governments and certain nonprofits) in named counties and hazard mitigation statewide, and no assistance to individuals; that was added later by amendment, starting with Linn County (FEMA).
