Not close to 18. Rod Blagojevich was sentenced to 168 months, which is 14 years, and got the same sentence again at resentencing.
The district court sentenced Rod Blagojevich to 168 months' imprisonment, and after five counts were vacated it imposed the same 168 months at resentencing, a sentence the appeals court affirmed (U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, United States v. Blagojevich, April 21, 2017).
