The Judge on the case of what will be the most beautiful Ballroom anywhere in the World, has just thrown out, and completely erased, the effort to stop its construction.
The judge didn't throw out the case. He only denied a preliminary injunction and said he would quickly consider an amended complaint on the merits if it was viable.
Judge Richard Leon denied only the National Trust's motion for a preliminary injunction and wrote that if the Trust amended its complaint 'the Court will expeditiously consider it and, if viable, address the merits of the novel and weighty issues presented' (U.S. District Court for D.C., No. 25-4316, Memorandum Opinion, Feb. 26, 2026).
